Torrevieja

At just over two hours flight from the UK, Torrevieja is a beautiful town on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. With its excellent weather, stunning coastline and abundance of culture, the area is quickly developing into one of the most well respected destinations within the Costa Blanca.
Originally a small fishing village, Torrevieja has grown considerably over the years into a picturesque town surrounded by some of the most envied beaches in the world. With their breathtaking crystal clear waters and fine sand, it comes as no surprise to learn that the beaches of Torrevieja - El Acequión, El Cura, Los Locos, La Mata, and Los Náufragos - have all held the distinguished European Blue flag award for many years. Most of these beaches and others nearby (such as the 44km long beaches of La Manga) have many features including entertainment for children, bars, restaurants, beach sports, Paragliding and all water sports.
Torrevieja is blessed with excellent markets which take place daily. Everything from fish to fruit, to shoes, to local artwork and clothing can be bought from the various stalls open all year round. Special effort must be made to visit the large open air market on Fridays, which will amaze with its wide choice of local produce and goods.

Guardamar

Guardamar’s strategic position on a hill over the Vega Baja made it the ideal settlement for the various peoples that inhabited this part of Spain. Guardamar owes its very existence and livelihood to the dunes that have shaped it.
Activities around the restored mouth of the river include fishing, camel rides and the Molino de San Antonio. All the local restaurants offer top-quality prawns and outstanding rice dishes, the pride of Alicante cuisine.
The prime natural feature are the dunes formed from sand deposited by both the river Segura and the sea, and blown inland by the east winds. This natural area is today the main distinguishing feature of Guardamar and it includes the Reina Sofia and Alfonso XIII parks, ideal for a leisurely stroll or for cycling. These are attractive spots for noting the local vegetation and observing the water birds that come to nest in this ecosystem, including herons and other species.

La Manga

By the Mar Menor, translated means 'Little Sea', is a saltwater lagoon. The La Manga strip is a natural breakwater between the Mediterranean Sea and the lagoon of La Manga. A popular bustling summer resort and a peaceful haven in the mild winter month's.
The famous Golf resort an sports academy is well worth a visit, you never know you may see - International footballers, Tennis players, Top athletes and T,V personalities come here to relax and enjoy the delights of Spain's healthy climate.

Alicante

Alicante is a pleasant capital of the province in which tourism is one of the main stays of its economy. It was the Renaissance landowner Campanello who was the first to call Alicante the 'Sun City'. Its magnificant microclimate, its excellent beaches, and its varied gastronomy converts Alicante into an incomparable destination.
The white fortress, as Alicante has been called by the Carthaginians, Greeks and Romans, is a city that includes, with ample gardens and avenues, its old part of town, known as El Barrio, between the castle of Santa Barbara, in the Benacantil hill, the Rambla de Mendez Nunez and the Explanada, with its marine promenade.
